Today’s digital technology is much more advanced than it was 60 years ago, but we still normally can’t use our phone while flying.

We all know the string by heart: “Make sure your seats are up, drawers down, blinds up, laptops stowed in overhead bins, and electronics on airplane mode.”

Obviously the first four are decent, right? The blinds need to be raised so we can see if there is an emergency, such as a fire. The extendable tables should be folded and the seats upright so that we can get out of the seat quickly in an emergency. Laptops can become projectiles in an emergency because the pockets in the backrests are not strong enough to contain them.

Concerning the Phones Phonesthey need to be in airplane mode so they can’t interfere with the flying equipment, right? Well, it all depends on who we ask.

Technology has come a long way

Air navigation and communications are based on radio systems that have been optimized since the 1920s to minimize interference. referring to digital technology currently in use is much more advanced than the old analog technologies used up to 60 years ago.
