MIT Group, a benchmark for highly complex medicine in the province of Santa Fe, presents its General Surgery Service. The service stands out for its team of professionals and for its comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to pathologies of the digestive system. For the development of scientific and healthcare activities, the MIT Group General Surgery Service is at the forefront of technology and medical devices.
This groundbreaking service, created by Dr. Ángel Pierini, a renowned professional in Argentina and Latin America, was created in the region with the aim of providing a highly complex and first-class approach to surgical treatments.
The MIT Group General Surgery Service consists of specialists in general surgery, gastroenterology, hepatology, anatomical pathology, oncology, psycho-oncology, and imaging, who focus their studies on pathologies of the digestive system.
Currently, Dr. Leandro Pierini, a specialist in general surgery, video laparoscopy, hepatobiliopancreatic surgery and liver transplantation, the team of professionals made up of staff doctors: José Ignacio Paladini, Guillermo Ruiz, Brian Evans and Juan Pablo Elías.

As an activity of the Service, the Liver Transplant Project with 10 years of development, Drs. Leandro Pierini, José Ignacio Paladini and Luis Alejandro Gaite, trained at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires and in the city of Montpellier, France, to provide the highest quality of care to patients with liver pathologies.
It is also worth noting the growth of the Bariatric Surgery project and a comprehensive approach to obesity treatment, led by Dr. Guillermo Ruiz, which represents an interdisciplinary space for the treatment of the silent epidemic of metabolic diseases.
The General Surgery Department performs 120 surgeries per month and provides care to patients in our city and to patients referred from all over Santa Fe and adjacent counties.
