For those who have money and are on the hunt for eccentricities, it was announced a few days ago that the tallest apartment in the world was up for sale.
Whoever wants to buy it will have to pay $250 million, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
The property is a triplex penthouse spanning floors (129,130 and 131) and is located atop the tallest residential building in the world, the Central Park Tower.
“the house, that it’s a crystal jewelry box in the sky, It contains seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, three powder rooms, two kitchens, a private terrace and multiple living and entertaining areas,” details Ryan Serhant, founder, CEO and broker of Serhant.
Inside, a grand staircase connects the three levels, and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the home offer sweeping views of beautiful New York City. “Volume is the true measure of luxury in any metropolis,” Serhant says, adding, “It’s not just the height or location that makes the unit the pinnacle of Manhattan real estate, but also its size. Although, in this case, the two variables are combined”.
A color fact is that when it is on the 131st floor, its future owner will be over 431 meters high, almost the same height as the 443-meter top of the Empire State Building.
Serhant claims that from the top floor, the curvature of the earth is visible to the naked eye. “Here I can imagine what climbers feel when they are on top of the highest mountain peaks,” he says.
With a height of 472 meters, the Central Park Tower is presented as the tallest residential building in the world. That world-famous building also houses the tallest private club in the world.
